Job Summary

Centerplate is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our food and beverage operations at a Tier 2 Convention Center in the Anaheim vicinity. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement, production, preparation, service, and sale of food and refreshments for all outlets within the assigned units.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of senior leadership experience in a diverse, contract-managed food and beverage environment, with a proven track record of managing large staffs and delivering exceptional client and customer service.

We are looking for a self-starter who can work independently and on multiple tasks simultaneously, with a strong working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and general workplace safety standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the procurement, production, preparation, service, and sale of food and refreshments for all outlets within assigned units.
  • Communicate and promote Centerplate's culture and values.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, client specifications, contractual obligations, and other legal and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Manage the financial performance of the venue through effective control of expenses and development of budgets, sales plans, and forecasts.
  • Participate in the recruitment, selection, and training processes as needed for assigned units.
  • Identify and respond to client and customer feedback and assist in escalated situations as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or appropriate combination of education and experience to support on-the-job effectiveness.
  • Minimum of 5 years of senior leadership experience in a diverse, contract-managed food and beverage environment.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen with significant past P&L responsibility.
  • Strong working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and general workplace safety standards.
  • Technologically savvy, with high proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs.
  • Demonstrated success in interfacing with a variety of organizational functions and divisions to accomplish tasks.
  • Flexibility, ability to work extended or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
