Culinary Specialist Job Summary

ALIYA of Evanston is seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our dietary services team, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review menus prior to food preparation to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Assist in developing and implementing department policies and procedures related to food service.
• Interpret policies and procedures to personnel, residents, and visitors as necessary.
• Coordinate food services with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Work with the facility's dietitian to implement recommended changes and ensure compliance with established standards.
• Ensure that all food service procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.

Requirements:

• One year of dietary or food experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or related medical facility preferred.
• State Food Service Sanitation certification required.
• Ability to read, speak, and write English in an understandable manner.
• Ability to function independently and work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday.
• Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet.
• Ability to taste and smell food to determine quality and palatability.
• May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
