Job Title: Maintenance Shop Supervisor

Swift Transportation is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Shop Supervisor to oversee the efficient operation of our maintenance facilities and ensure the safety of our drivers.

About the Role:
  • **Leadership and Supervision**: Oversee assigned maintenance shop(s) to ensure they are staffed, operating within budget constraints, and meeting all safety requirements.
  • **Facility Management**: Ensure shop buildings and yards are equipped with necessary tools and safety equipment.
  • **Daily Operations**: Lead daily supervision of shop supervisors/lead persons/shop employees.
  • **Procurement and Compliance**: Monitor purchases and take corrective action when out of compliance with company policies.
  • **Repair Decision-Making**: Determine best solutions for repair decisions made on equipment in assigned shop(s).
  • **Accident Estimation and Bidding**: Lead accident estimates and bids for equipment outsourced from their location.
  • **Vendor Negotiation**: Negotiate with local vendors for supplies and services.
  • **Customer Site Maintenance**: Ensure customer locations have written schedules for tire inflation and safety checks.
  • **Trailer Maintenance**: Lead customer site trailer maintenance and provide feedback on customer site programs.
  • **Performance Measurement**: Interact with all departments to measure maintenance performance and make corrective action recommendations.
  • **Cost Reduction and Process Improvement**: Participate in field maintenance cost reduction programs and interact effectively with company and departmental personnel.
  • **SOP Review and Policy Support**: Conduct and/or coordinate reviews of SOP programs and policies to ensure appropriate support is provided to their shop.
Requirements:
  • **Experience**: 4+ years of heavy-duty vehicle maintenance experience required.
  • **Leadership Experience**: Previous shop leadership experience required.
  • **Vendor Negotiation Experience**: Vendor negotiation experience preferred.
  • **Education**: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
  • **Communication Skills**: Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • **Technical Skills**: Proficiency with Microsoft suite required.
