About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Portfolio Operations Leader to join our Capital Markets division at Customers Bank. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of best-in-class recurring business operations, including transaction settlement, reconciliation, and analytical reporting.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in operating private credit lending facilities or capital markets middle office experience, preferably at a specialty lender, asset manager, commercial bank, or similar. Alternatively, they may have a strategy and operations/product operations background at a venture-backed technology firm, preferably a fintech.

The ideal candidate will possess robust communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to engage a hybrid remote organization spanning multiple time zones and states. They will also have a deep enthusiasm for detail, with a strong understanding of fundamental fixed income, valuation, and finance theory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver best-in-class recurring business operations, including transaction settlement, reconciliation, and analytical reporting.
  • Lead the growth and sophistication of Customers Bank's fintech lending programs across credit sub-verticals, including unsecured term consumer, home improvement, and credit cards.
  • Drive the design of policies, procedures, and best-in-class operating models for the Portfolio Operations function.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Accounting, Operations, Data, Treasury, and Compliance, to drive business growth and revenue.
  • Implement scalable technology infrastructure for repeat operational problems encountered by the Capital Markets/Consumer Lending divisions.
Requirements
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in operating private credit lending facilities or capital markets middle office experience, preferably at a specialty lender, asset manager, commercial bank, or similar.
  • BA or BS in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, and/or 5-10 years of exceptional execution, not afraid of getting into the weeds and rolling up sleeves to make sure whatever is in their zone of ownership gets done.
  • Robust communication, collaboration, and leadership skills in a team environment, with the ability to engage a hybrid remote organization spanning multiple time zones and states.
  • Deep enthusiasm for detail, with a strong understanding of fundamental fixed income, valuation, and finance theory.
  • Outstanding proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, as well as knowledge of relational database languages (e.g. SQL) and/or data analytics tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, PowerBI).
