Certified Nursing Assistant 3, Medical Oncology, Full-Time

The Certified Nursing Assistant 3 (CNA 3) plays a vital role in providing advanced patient care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse at the University of Miami Hospital's UTower - Medical Oncology Nursing 11 North. This position requires a high level of skill and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist patients with personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Feed patients, ambulate, turn, and position patients, and provide fresh water and nourishment between meals.
- Administer enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, therapeutic and sitz baths, and apply restraints.
- Perform sugar and acetone urine testing, specimen collection, and post-mortem care.
- Answer patients' call lights and requests promptly.
- Maintain a safe and attractive environment for patients and staff, and transport patients and equipment.
- Report patient conditions to the assigned nurse to ensure professional assessment.
- Measure and record food and liquid intake and output, and check and record vital signs.
- Provide patient help with walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed.
- Perform minor physical therapy routines and turning in bed to prevent bed sores.
- Collect urine samples, attach EKG leads, and remove intravenous feeding tubes.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Nursing Assistant license.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
- Commitment to the University's core values.
- Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
- Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).
