Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team at Rotating Machinery Svcs, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with engineers, collecting data, and creating layouts, drawings, and schematics for turbomachinery components and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform dimensional inspections and analyze components and assemblies to meet design goals and established criteria.
  2. Create CAD design layouts and drawings for projects and other company assignments.
  3. Input and maintain required drafting-related project information in the company's MRP system.
  4. Maintain project drafting files, including dimensions and other data used in the creation of layouts and drawings.
  5. Work closely with engineering, the shop, and purchasing to ensure that drawings convey the correct information and are error-free.
  6. Provide mentorship, support, and leadership abilities to other drafters in a professional manner.
  7. Visit customer sites for on-site inspections, data gathering, and customer meetings.
Requirements
  1. Minimum of 3 years of mechanical design experience.
  2. Experience in Solidworks preferred.
  3. Ability to analyze components and assemblies to meet design goals and established criteria.
  4. Experience in design for manufacturability and assembly.
  5. Ability to use industry-standard CAD systems for design and documentation.
  6. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5.
  7. Professional communication and interaction skills.
Work Environment

The employee may work in a shop or field service environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts. The work area is generally clean, safe, and not loud, but there will be machining operations that generate moderate noise and metal particles.

Education

An Associate's degree, professional certificate, or technical training along with 3 years' mechanical design experience is required.
