Position Summary:
Under the guidance of the Clinic Manager, the Patient Services Coordinator is responsible for executing front office operations essential for patient reception, scheduling, and discharge. This role involves answering phone inquiries, providing necessary patient information, managing appointment schedules, and ensuring messages are relayed to the appropriate personnel. The Coordinator is also tasked with maintaining patient records in a confidential manner and performing daily financial tasks. Acknowledging and respecting individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles is a key aspect of this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcomes and directs patients for their health evaluations.
- Processes fee tickets, collecting payment and insurance details.
- Utilizes the Electronic Practice Management (EPM) system for appointment scheduling.
- Prepares patient charts and ensures all necessary forms are included.
- Maintains patient files and inputs relevant data into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system as required.
- Handles requests for medical records in accordance with patient requests.
- Drafts patient correspondence, service requests, and referral letters.
- Receives and distributes daily documents from various sources.
- Manages phone communications, recording and delivering messages.
- Provides interpretation services for providers and staff as necessary.
- Informs patients about available programs and services at Unicare Community Health Center.
- Assists patients with applications and referrals as needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Performs other related tasks as directed by the Clinic Manager to meet organizational goals.
Work Schedule:
- Monday – Friday: Starting times between 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM and ending times between 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM.
- Occasional Saturday work may be required.
- Travel to various Unicare Community Health Center clinics may be necessary for meetings or work assignments.
Professional Requirements:
- Adhere to the dress code, ensuring a neat appearance.
- Maintain current licenses, registrations, and certifications.
- Ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
- Report to work punctually and consistently.
- Comply with all regulatory requirements at the state, federal, and local levels.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- One year of clerical or receptionist experience; medical office experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Strong phone etiquette.
- Ability to write clearly and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), interpersonal skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to utilize EHR systems and related software effectively.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
