Job Summary

The Network Technician at Wecom Fiber is responsible for configuring telecommunications and fiber network devices, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and maintaining network reliability. This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless operation of telecommunications and fiber network infrastructure to support business functions and customer connectivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure and deploy network equipment, such as routers, switches, access points, and firewalls, in telecommunications and fiber networks to facilitate connectivity and data transmission.
  • Troubleshoot telecommunications and fiber network connectivity issues, perform diagnostics, and resolve network outages to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
  • Assist in telecommunications and fiber network installations, upgrades, and expansions under the guidance of senior network engineers, following technical specifications and industry standards.
  • Monitor network performance metrics, analyze data traffic patterns, and optimize network resources to enhance efficiency and reliability in telecommunications and fiber operations.
  • Document network configurations, changes, and incidents related to telecommunications and fiber networks for reference, analysis, and compliance purposes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, network engineers, and IT staff to support telecommunications and fiber network operations, address technical issues, and implement solutions.
  • Adhere to network security protocols, best practices, and regulatory requirements in telecommunications and fiber network operations to protect data and ensure network integrity.
  • Configure telecommunications and fiber network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points, to establish connectivity and communication within the network infrastructure.
  • Conduct telecommunications and fiber network troubleshooting, perform network diagnostics, and resolve connectivity issues to maintain network performance and operational stability.
  • Assist in telecommunications and fiber network maintenance activities, such as software updates, firmware upgrades, and hardware replacements, to ensure system reliability and security.
  • Collaborate with telecommunications and fiber network engineers to implement network changes, upgrades, and enhancements in alignment with telecommunications and fiber business requirements.
  • Monitor telecommunications and fiber network performance metrics, analyze network data, and generate reports to track telecommunications and fiber network health and performance trends.
  • Participate in telecommunications and fiber network planning, design, and implementation projects, supporting network expansion, upgrades, and optimization initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Network Administration, or a related field; or 2+ years of experience in network support in the telecommunications and fiber industry.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, telecommunications and fiber technologies, and troubleshooting techniques specific to telecommunications and fiber networks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a dynamic telecommunications and fiber environment.
  • Basic understanding of network configurations, telecommunications and fiber infrastructure, and network monitoring tools.
  • Effective communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills to work with network teams and IT professionals in the telecommunications and fiber sector.
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills in telecommunications and fiber installations, maintenance, and field operations.
