Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Package Handler Trainer to join our team at FedEx. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for training and developing our Package Handlers to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to efficiently and safely move packages through our operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Train new Package Handlers in effective unloading, loading, palletizing, carrying, smalls handling, and non-conveyable package handling techniques.
  • Provide training and feedback to Package Handlers who require additional instruction on unloading, carrying, loading, palletizing, smalls handling, or non-conveyable package handling techniques.
  • Reinforce dock safety standards among peer Package Handlers.
  • Understand and demonstrate by example all necessary processes and procedures.
  • Update managers on conditions during the sort to inform operation efficiency decisions.
  • Assist in the implementation of new package handling procedures and techniques.
  • Load and unload packages while training other Package Handlers.
  • Utilize hand-to-surface methods for all package handling.
  • Load and unload packages onto or from delivery vehicles, trailers, pallets, conveyor system carts, and load gratings.
  • Determine the appropriate conveyor system by scanning packages, reading labels and charts, verifying numbers, and memorizing information, and sort packages accordingly.
Requirements
  • No experience required; six (6) months of experience as a Package Handler with FedEx Ground preferred.
  • Ability to train multiple peer Package Handlers simultaneously.
  • Ability to understand and follow instruction regarding work duties and safety methods.
  • Ability to discern numbers and information in order to sort packages correctly.
  • Ability to use basic tools and equipment such as skate wheel rollers, dock carts, hand-held scanners, chutes, and unloading devices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
Working Conditions
  • Will need to work in hot and cold temperatures.
  • Will need to work in an environment with loud noise.
  • Should be able to lift and carry between 10 and 50 pounds.
  • Travel should not be required.

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job, and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision, and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.

Pay: $23.50 per hour
