Electrical Engineering Internship Overview

The Polaris Electrical Engineering Internship is a 12-week paid internship designed for emerging sophomores, juniors, and seniors interested in pursuing a career in the powersports industry. This program is for future leaders who seek a culture built on innovation, passion, and collaboration.

As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will be given impactful, project-based assignments that allow you to have exposure to multiple facets of engineering to help you develop and define core areas of interest and strengths. You will receive personalized goals and projects that track directly to the needs of the business to allow you to have a hand in key company initiatives. These projects could include targeted development in areas such as product design, continuous improvement, and systems engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement various engineering projects
  • Drive continuous improvement and problem-solving for engineering roadblocks
  • Gain experience in systems engineering, embedded electronics, automated electronics, control development, infotainment, autonomous, and electrification

Program Benefits:
  • Professional development offerings, including mentorship, intern programming, and networking opportunities
  • Intern innovation challenge: collaborate with fellow interns on a cross-functional team to develop and propose innovative solutions to an internal case study
  • Early talent summit super week: participate in a 3-day event with professional development, structured networking, and a team ride on Polaris vehicles
  • Community engagement: volunteer alongside fellow interns
  • Final presentations: showcase career aspirations and recap internship experience

Selection Process:

Applications are open from September to December 2024. You will be invited to participate in a MS TEAMS panel interview with an identified HR business partner and functional leader. Upon accepting an offer, you will partner with the Early Talent team to be matched to your specific intern role/project, team, and location through an intern matching process. You will be asked to complete a survey to provide insights to help match you with a real-life business opportunity best suited to your strengths, development areas, and interests.

Relocation Assistance:

Polaris offers a relocation program for interns who qualify through Weichert Workforce Mobility. To qualify for these services, your home address must be 35 miles or more from the office where you will be working. Benefits include a lump sum (grossed up to offset tax liability), access to a relocation counselor, and short-term housing assistance.
