General Overview
The Sales Associate is tasked with managing register transactions related to the sale and/or return of products.

Key Responsibilities
Include the following. Additional tasks may be assigned.

Customer Engagement
  • Represent Ace Hardware positively.
  • Welcome customers as they enter and throughout their shopping experience. Acknowledge customers by name, when feasible, upon their departure.
  • Exhibit a warm, approachable attitude; collaborate effectively with both customers and team members.
  • Efficiently manage customer checkout lines to minimize wait times.
  • Promptly and courteously respond to all calls and pages.
  • Communicate any issues that require managerial attention.
  • Continuously enhance product knowledge and assist customers with store layout and product locations.
  • Support in pricing, stocking, labeling, and bagging of merchandise.
Register Management
  • Adhere to all cash register transaction protocols.
  • Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the register drawer.
  • Comply with any Store Support Center initiatives or promotions that necessitate implementation at the registers.
  • Engage in store and Cashier meetings.
Front End Maintenance
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front end, including checkout areas and entrance doors, at all times. Ensure that the front end is well-stocked and dusted.
  • Assist in keeping impulse counters stocked and organized, rotating fresh merchandise as seasons change.
  • Ensure that promotional materials are consistently available in shopping carts.
  • Maintain adequate supplies and forms at all times.
  • Assist in decorating the front end in accordance with Store Support Center guidelines.
  • Request cart pickups as needed.
  • Notify management when merchandise returns require restocking.
  • Perform any other assigned duties.
Qualifications
Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience: Previous cashier experience is preferred. Customer service experience is also preferred.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and lift items weighing up to 25 lbs.
