Clinical Operations Specialist

As a key member of the UCLA Health team, the Senior Vocational Nurse will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. Under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Operations, this individual will be responsible for monitoring staff and performing associated nursing services.

Key responsibilities include direct nursing care, medication administration as outlined by program protocol, patient flow coordination, and training/monitoring staff. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with staff, patients, faculty, and residents to maximize patient care and physician satisfaction.

Administrative responsibilities will include coordinating and monitoring patients/staff, working in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Operations to adjust staffing on a daily basis to maintain efficient operations, and ensuring maintenance of the facility.

The Senior Vocational Nurse will also be responsible for participating in Quality Assurance processes and maintaining professional standards at all times.

Key qualifications include skill in the usage of medical diagnostic equipment, as well as a working knowledge of instruments and supplies required to perform clinical procedures and physical examinations.

The ideal candidate will also have the ability to effectively elicit pertinent clinical information from patients and referring professionals, and make appropriate assignments based on established guidelines.

Additional requirements include the ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive and confidential information using discretion and judgment.
