Job Title: Senior Composites Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Composites Engineer to join our team at Point Blank Enterprises, Inc. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, testing, and analysis of hard armor personal protective products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure material and process selections are compatible within a product and are able to be manufactured within the constraints of PBE manufacturing capabilities.
  • Work closely with program management and production staff to meet development and manufacturing preparedness timelines.
  • Conduct special studies and investigations related to project activities and recommend changes as appropriate to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and meet changed or new requirements.
  • Develop manufacturing processes for implementation by production engineering team.
  • Provide technical interface between external supply base, program development leaders and manufacturing to meet defined technology objectives, as required.
  • Ensure effective communication with customers and interested parties throughout project life cycle.
  • Communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Identify and manage project critical path(s).
  • Attend relevant internal and external technical meetings and design reviews, as required.
  • Ensure all technical documentation is generated in compliance with TPG's Change Control procedure and Configuration Management processes.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify risk, and devise contingency and risk mitigation plans.
  • Collaborate with other engineering functions within TPG to aid and assist in project/product transitions.
  • Support the quoting and proposal process by providing technical information, NRE, travel, labor, and special testing costs, as required.
  • Participate in the Contract Review and Contract Kick-Off process.
  • Participate in USG, Customer, and Third Party audits, as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Engineering; chemical, mechanical, aerospace or similar preferred.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in composite, ceramics, and/or armor development industry.
  • Must understand basics of autoclave operation and applications to composite lamination.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills, and the ability to operate under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational, technical and communication (oral and written) skills in the English language.
Physical Demands:

Sitting for long periods. Dexterity and coordination to handle files and single pieces of paper; occasional lifting of items weighing up to (25) twenty-five pounds such as files, stacks of paper, reference and other materials.
