PET/CT Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled PET/CT Technologist to join our team at Community Health Network. As a PET/CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing nuclear medicine, molecular imaging, and diagnostic CT procedures or therapies under the supervision of a licensed practitioner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, administer, and document activities related to ionizing radiation (radioactive material and/or computed tomography) and nonionizing radiation, medications, and radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, and institutional policy.
  • Perform each exam using proper technical and positioning factors in accordance with the protocol manual, including aspects of intravenous access and administration of pharmaceuticals and/or contrast media as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Verify archival storage of data by tracking exam to completeness in both EMR and PACS.
  • Apply principles of patient safety during all aspects of patient care and be able to identify and respond to emergency situations, including principles of radiation safety and ALARA as well as knowledge of MR safety.
Requirements:
  • Education: 2-year/Associate Degree in Nuclear Medicine (Required); 4-year/Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Medicine (Preferred)
  • Certifications/Licensures: Certified Nuclear Medicine Technology (N)(ARRT), Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • Within one (1) year from hire, Certifications/Licensures: Certified Computed Tomography (CT)(ARRT) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB)(CT)
  • Two years of Nuclear Medicine clinical experience (Preferred)
