Role Summary:
The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for operating imaging equipment, including CT, to generate clinical diagnostic images as per physician directives. This role involves performing standard diagnostic procedures in accordance with established protocols and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Capture x-ray images of designated body parts as requested, adhering to established protocols.
- Prepare patients and adjust imaging equipment accordingly.
- Position and instruct patients throughout the imaging process.
- Provide Radiologists with essential information for exam protocols and interpretations.
- Welcome patients and manage orders for imaging examinations.
- Address inquiries related to departmental operations by referencing established policies.
- Conduct imaging within a PACS environment, including digitizing films for review and storage.
- Assist in patient transportation as needed.
- Utilize immobilization devices in line with standard practices to ensure patient safety.
- Implement protective measures to shield body parts not in the central ray and minimize radiation exposure.
- Engage in educational and training initiatives to support community-based Radiological Technology programs.
Qualifications:
General Requirements:
- CT Certification required within 15 months of hire.
- Minimum of 1 year of X-Ray experience in a clinical environment.
- Preferred: Experience in CT imaging.
- Graduate from an accredited Radiological Technology program.
- Understanding of cross-sectional anatomy.
- Ability to comprehend professional and technical radiology materials related to machine operation and radiograph development.
- Spatial awareness to visualize internal organ relationships for effective diagnostic imaging.
- Self-discipline and strong communication skills.
- High level of personal motivation and teamwork capabilities.
- Knowledge necessary to provide patient care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, and safety criteria relevant to the patient demographic.
