About the Role

The Pharmacy Technician - Retail role at Maine Medical Center is a supportive position that works under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist. The primary responsibilities of this role include medication preparation, storage, distribution, and disposition, as well as related clerical tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications to patients.
  • Store and manage medications, supplies, and equipment in a safe and organized manner.
  • Process and handle prescriptions, including verifying patient information and medication orders.
  • Perform clerical tasks, such as answering phones, responding to patient inquiries, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Collaborate with the Pharmacy team to ensure efficient and effective medication management.

Requirements

  • Education: Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • License/Certifications: Current or eligible for applicable state license as a Pharmacy Technician required. CPhT or PTCB certificate preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a related healthcare role is preferred.
