Job Summary

The Cardiac Sonographer is a vital member of the Wellstar Health System, Inc. team, responsible for performing high-quality echocardiography procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform echocardiography procedures, including adult, pediatric, and transesophageal echocardiograms, to obtain high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Operate and maintain echocardiography equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
  • Provide excellent patient care, ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety throughout the examination process.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including patient information, examination results, and any relevant findings.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with the latest echocardiography techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program.
  • Registered Medical Sonographer or Reg Cardiac Sonographer certification from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or Reg Diag Cardiac Sonographer certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in echocardiography or a related field.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
