Job Overview

803 St. Ann Catholic Church is seeking a highly motivated Youth Ministry Coordinator to develop and implement a comprehensive youth ministry program. This role is responsible for creating engaging experiences that foster spiritual growth, leadership development, and community building among middle school, high school, young adult, and confirmation program participants.

Responsibilities
  • Create and lead Core Group activities, providing opportunities for enrichment and skill development.
  • Develop leadership skills in youth and young adults through training and mentorship programs.
  • Establish relationships with families of youth and collaborate with other parish youth organizations on local and national levels.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement weekend retreats and youth evening gatherings, including travel arrangements, food, and lodging.
  • Maintain open communication with parents and work with catechists and adult volunteers to enhance their understanding of youth ministry.
  • Coordinate the confirmation program, overseeing logistics, curriculum inventory, volunteer recruitment, registration management, and other tasks.
  • Organize fundraisers for youth trips and activities, such as food sales, religious article sales, and service projects.
Administration
  • Develop and implement programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of youth and young adults.
  • Maintain accurate records of office and program activities, including logs and time tracking.
  • Promote programs and events through effective marketing strategies, including social media, flyers, videos, and parish bulletin.
  • Provide opportunities for youth to engage with the Gospel message and assist in preparing para-liturgical and liturgical celebrations.
  • Meet regularly with the pastor to update on recent youth activities and discuss upcoming events, benefits, and obstacles.
  • Evaluate all aspects of the parish's ministry to youth and establish procedures for improvement.
  • Set budgets for fiscal year expenses and track expenditures throughout the year.
Communication
  • Keep the parish faith community informed of youth ministry activities and goals, advising and cooperating with other organizations.
  • Stay updated on diocesan, regional, and national conferences, reading relevant materials, and participating in youth associations.
  • Aware of community agencies and resources interfacing with youth and maintain relationships with nearby schools.
  • Respond to daily inquiries, emails, phone calls, voicemails, and mail, and attend monthly staff meetings to communicate youth activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in a related field (preferred but not necessary).
  • Youth ministry experience in a Catholic parish.
  • Active member of a Roman Catholic parish faith community.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus, particularly in a culturally diverse parish like St. Ann's.
Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year
