Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Device Specialist to join our team at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). As a key member of our sterile processing team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality and safety in the processing and sterilization of medical devices.

Responsibilities

  • Graduate of high school or equivalent and certified in sterile processing and instrument specialist from IAHCSMM
  • At least 12 months of experience in sterile processing
  • Ability to understand and implement detailed instructions in the execution of processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure healthcare environment

Requirements

  • Certification in sterile processing and instrument specialist from IAHCSMM
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, and walking
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required
