We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Shift Engineer to be part of our opening team.

Role Summary:
The Shift Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining the operational efficiency and safety of the resort's facilities during assigned shifts. This position requires a strong background in maintenance across multiple systems, outstanding problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to guest repair requests, ensuring effective communication to resolve issues.
  • Greet and acknowledge guests in accordance with company standards, anticipating their service needs.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and perform repairs on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including HVAC units.
  • Manage electrical system maintenance, including the replacement of switches and outlets.
  • Implement lockout/tagout procedures to guarantee safety during maintenance tasks.
  • Oversee the operation and management of shut-off valves for equipment and facilities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas, including mechanical rooms.
  • Keep an inventory of maintenance supplies and request parts as necessary.
  • Facilitate effective communication across shifts regarding daily operations and issues.
  • Inspect and maintain tools and equipment regularly.
  • Utilize engineering software for preventive maintenance and energy management.
  • Collaborate with external contractors for repairs and improvements beyond routine maintenance.
  • Monitor building management systems to ensure efficiency and comfort.
  • Respond to emergencies swiftly, following established protocols to minimize risks.
  • Adapt to additional responsibilities as required to support departmental needs.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by senior engineering staff.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering maintenance within luxury hotel or resort environments.
  • Proficient knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment.
  • Technical trade certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience in luxury hospitality settings and multilingual skills are a plus.

Work Environment:

  • This role involves both indoor and outdoor tasks, subject to varying weather conditions.
  • Exposure to noise, fumes, and hazardous materials necessitates the use of personal protective equipment.
