Overview
Ensure the maintenance of all building systems and the building envelope to guarantee the safety of hotel guests, associates, and vendors.
Adhere to company engineering standards, preventative maintenance programs, and procedures, as well as all relevant building, fire, and health department codes.
Strive to maintain energy efficiency throughout the building, continuously seeking ways to conserve energy.Responsibilities
The following are specific contributions that must be developed during the training program to successfully complete the program and be placed in a hotel with or without reasonable accommodation:
Assist with preventative maintenance and complete work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, and patching vinyl to uphold the hotel’s quality standards.
Assist in inspecting electrical systems, including air conditioning controls, televisions, and lighting systems, and perform minor repairs or replacements as needed.
Assist in routine repairs and support major repairs of all hotel equipment, including small appliances, kitchen equipment, laundry machines, boilers, pool equipment, HVAC systems, hand and power tools, and plumbing fixtures such as pipelines, toilets, sinks, and kitchen and laundry equipment.
Enhance the building's exterior and curb appeal (e.g., snow removal, lawn care, painting, gardening).
Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms, such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, and counters. Paint and finish furniture and fixtures as necessary.
Respond courteously to all guest inquiries, complaints, and requests to ensure high levels of guest satisfaction.
Be prepared for exposure to extreme temperatures.
Operate heavy machinery.
Adhere to attendance policies and be available to work regularly.
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Vocational training, military experience, certification, and/or experience in building-related trades required in one or more of the following areas: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Carpentry.
Ability to climb, read, stand, walk, and routinely lift 25 to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be able to follow instructions and communicate progress on work assignments.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences, including supervisors, coworkers, and the public.
