At City Year, we believe that every student deserves a high-quality education that prepares them for success. As a City Year AmeriCorps member, you will play a critical role in helping students achieve academic success, improve their attendance, and develop positive behaviors at school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coach and mentor elementary, middle, and high school students to help them earn academic success and improve their attendance
  • Develop and implement literacy and math skills, varying learning activities to meet the needs of individual students
  • Create and implement behavior management systems to support student growth and development
  • Collaborate with teachers and team members to collect, record, and analyze student data, participating in facilitated reviews of student progress
  • Support whole school initiatives to increase engagement with students and families, including extended day and virtual programming

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
  • Have a GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree
  • Have served no more than three terms in an AmeriCorps state or national program
  • Agree to complete a background check
