CALMRA, Inc. is dedicated to providing support to adults aged 18 and older with cognitive disabilities in the Maryland region. Our clientele often includes individuals with physical disabilities who require comprehensive assistance in daily living activities such as eating, bathing, dressing, and transportation. Residents typically share their living space with one or two housemates and are supported by compassionate, trained staff members. Additionally, CALMRA operates a Senior Center to offer daytime services to seniors and individuals with age-related or cognitive disabilities.

Role SummaryThe Awake Overnight Counselor is accountable for maintaining the standards of care as outlined in the job description and must adhere to all policies set forth by CALMRA, Inc. It is essential to remain awake throughout the entire shift.
Key Responsibilities- Program Implementation: Execute plans as specified, ensuring timely and accurate documentation of data, and implement behavior management strategies.
- Household Management: Uphold the cleanliness and appeal of the living environment, report maintenance needs, assist with household cleanliness, and ensure residents have clean clothing.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Facilitate emergency medical arrangements as needed, accurately administer and document medication, promote good hygiene practices, and be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Health Monitoring: Observe residents for safety during sleep, reposition as necessary, maintain cleanliness of bedding, and document relevant data accurately.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned.
- Knowledge of proper English grammar and usage.
- Proficient computer skills, including keyboard familiarity.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Basic mathematical calculation skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
