Job Summary:

The Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for the delivery and coordination of patient care provided by the caregiving team in the Hematology/Oncology department at Albany Medical Center. The nurse assesses, coordinates, plans, directs, implements and manages the needs of assigned patients throughout the episode of care with a focus on progress toward discharge, including during transitions within the acute care stay.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and coordinate patient care needs
• Plan, direct, implement and manage patient care
• Coordinate with the caregiving team to ensure competent and compassionate patient care
• Ensure that patient care is uniformly provided to customers including referring facilities, hospital staff and patients in the inpatient, ambulatory, and community settings

Requirements:

The Registered Professional Nurse must have a strong understanding of patient care principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The nurse must also be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet the needs of assigned patients.

Work Environment:

The Registered Professional Nurse will work in the Hematology/Oncology department at Albany Medical Center, which is an equal opportunity employer.
