Position Overview

This is a Contract Position for a Registered Dietitian focusing on K-12 nutrition initiatives. The role is Remote and part-time, reporting to the Senior Manager of Nutrition Standards.

About Eat Real

Eat Real is dedicated to enhancing the nutritional quality of meals served in schools across America. Our innovative K-12 certification program empowers foodservice leaders to create menus that are not only nutritious but also sustainable. We collaborate with a network of advocates, chefs, and parents to promote the importance of real food in educational settings and influence policy for healthier food standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of K-12 foodservice programs in assigned districts using Eat Real standards.
  • Facilitate meetings to gather necessary documentation from school district staff.
  • Oversee the collection and analysis of menu and program-related data.
  • Generate reports detailing assessment outcomes and participate in meetings to discuss findings.
  • Support districts during the Action Plan Phase to achieve certification goals.

Additional Duties
  • Engage in regular check-in meetings to provide updates on progress.
  • Offer constructive feedback to enhance assessment tools and processes.

Qualifications
  • Registered Dietitian with experience in K-12 foodservice and knowledge of USDA programs.
  • Proficient in using menu software and Google Suite applications.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Work Schedule
  • Flexible hours with a commitment of up to 15 hours per week during peak periods.
  • Remote work capability with participation in virtual meetings as needed.

Compensation

This role offers a competitive hourly rate based on experience, with reimbursement for any necessary travel related to district assessments.
