Job Summary

As a Senior Civil Engineer at Ackerman-Estvold Engineering, you will be responsible for managing complex engineering projects across multiple disciplines. This role requires a strong technical background in civil engineering, with experience in project management, client relationships, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Manage small to mid-size projects, client and contractor agreements, and budgets
Develop client relationships in support of business development to secure new project opportunities
Write and prepare technical engineering reports, plans, and specifications for projects
Consult with clients to plan and develop strategies for their civil engineering design and support needs
Analyze reports, maps, drawings, and tests to plan and design projects
Evaluate designs to determine project feasibility, estimate quantities, and cost of materials, equipment, and labor requirements
Assist with construction inspection of project sites to monitor progress and ensure design specifications are met
Engineering design for site-civil infrastructure elements
Mentor less experienced engineers as needed
Engage with public agencies to provide support, permitting, and approval of project needs

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or similar field
Professional Engineering Registration (PE) for the state of ND (or ability to obtain registration for ND)
8 years of successful design and consulting experience within Civil Engineering
Strong technical skills and experience using Autodesk Civil 3D, XP-SWMM, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD, and other related programs
Excellent communication and team leadership skills
