About the Position

The University of Miami's Department of Psychology is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Psychologist to join our team. As a Staff Psychologist, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive psychological services to individuals with autism spectrum disorders and related disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations, including assessments and interventions, for clients with autism spectrum disorders and related disabilities.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including therapeutic services and educational recommendations, to meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Provide clinical supervision to doctoral student trainees, ensuring they receive high-quality training and support in their conduct of psychological evaluations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and support to clients and their families.
  • Participate in case conferences and staff meetings to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Document services provided, maintaining accurate and timely records in accordance with State regulations and professional standards.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology from an accredited program.
  • Licensed or license-eligible to practice in the State of Florida by the appointment start date.
  • Minimum two years of relevant work experience in assessing and treating autism spectrum disorders and related disabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of healthcare professionals, parents, and family members.
  • Compassionate and willing to go above and beyond to provide treatments that meet individual's and families' unique needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual English-Spanish skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and families who speak Spanish.
  • Prior clinical experience in a teaching institution or service setting, with a focus on autism spectrum disorders and related disabilities.
  • Experience as a clinical supervisor, with a proven track record of supporting and developing the skills of doctoral student trainees.
