Job Description:

The Renewable Energy Internship program at BHE Renewables, LLC is designed to provide college students with hands-on experience in the energy industry. As a renewable energy policy analyst, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and activities that support the development and construction of new renewable generation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support government and regulatory engagement at the state and federal level to advance company goals.
  • Assist with research of relevant laws and regulations in states where the company is evaluating potential investments.
  • Develop and maintain reports, summaries, and presentations of legislative and regulatory proceedings.
  • Prepare material to support the president and CEO's engagements with key policymakers.
  • Attend briefings, workshops, and hearings on issues that could impact the business.
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings and formal comments.
  • Analyze existing laws and regulations and provide summaries to the development team.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a college student, sophomore or higher standing, currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in political science, law, environmental policy, or a related field.
  • Prior utility or energy industry experience is helpful but not required.
  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective project management skills.
  • Effective analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
