Evaluate and analyze the capabilities of packaging providers and technologies to ensure they meet defense requirements. Formulate strategies and assessment methodologies to foster a shared understanding of defense packaging goals, and oversee the testing and evaluation of these technologies. Additionally, develop comprehensive roadmaps, business models, and technology frameworks to enhance future collaboration and access.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Over 15 years of hands-on engineering experience, particularly in microelectronics packaging technologies.
  • A minimum of 5 years in designing and analyzing electronic packaging failure modes under various testing conditions such as temperature cycling, shock, and vibration.
  • Proficient in packaging structural, thermal, materials, or modeling toolkits, including ABAQUS, COMSOL, and SOLIDWORKS, along with expertise in material testing for mechanical characterization and reliability testing methodologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of contemporary packaging architectures, including multi-chip, chip-on-chip, chip-on-wafer, and the associated reliability challenges.
  • Awareness of current packaging technologies, existing gaps, ongoing research in advanced packaging, and the promising initiatives underway, along with their objectives and timelines.
  • Understanding of microelectronics packaging performance metrics.
  • Capability to conduct analytical evaluations of packaging performance, deliver precise technical assessments of various methodologies, and integrate these insights into technology roadmaps guiding industry efforts.
  • Ability to comprehend defense requirements in advanced microelectronics packaging, assess the performance of diverse technologies and vendors, and articulate a technology and business roadmap for senior stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Materials Science.
