Role Responsibilities:
This position is pivotal in the creation and adjustment of design calculations, technical documentation, engineering plans, and specifications for designated Intelligent Transportation Systems initiatives. You will collaborate closely with the project manager to conduct research, development, calculations, design, and delivery. Your role will involve applying engineering methodologies, procedures, and design standards for projects of varying sizes and complexities. You will utilize your technical expertise, experience, and client relationships to support the execution and assessment of project designs.

Key Duties Include:
  • Completing assigned tasks within the specified timeline and hours.
  • Assisting in the formulation of project specifications.
  • Overseeing the development of discipline-specific engineering project components such as reports, designs, and plans.
  • Facilitating coordination and productivity among project team members.
  • Providing technical mentorship to less experienced engineering team members.
  • Collaborating with other disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Conducting quality control reviews of discipline-specific engineering project components.
  • Assisting with the organization and planning of schedules, hours, and workload distribution within the discipline.
  • Performing additional duties as required.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you should possess:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 4 years of relevant experience, or
  • A Master's degree in Engineering with 3 years of relevant experience, or
  • A PhD in Engineering with 2 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in optimizing work processes with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to independently advance the majority of designs and tasks required for the discipline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
  • A solid understanding of engineering applications related to geometric and algebraic principles.
  • Strong time management skills, with proactive forecasting and communication regarding project development needs.

Additional Preferences:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Intelligent Transportation Systems or Traffic Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • Experience in Project Engineering and/or Task Management for Intelligent Transportation System Design, Electrical System Design, Vehicle Electrification Design, Connected Vehicle System Design, Telecommunications/Broadband System Design, IP Network Design/Integration, Transit Technology Design, and Traffic Engineering Design.
  • Willingness to work in an office environment with occasional field visits and site meetings.

Compensation:
The approximate pay range for this position is competitive and will be determined based on various factors, including qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
