Job Title: Lead Transportation Engineer PE

NV5 is seeking a highly skilled Lead Transportation Engineer/Project Manager to join our team in San Diego, CA. As a key member of our Transportation Infrastructure design team, you will lead and support the growth of our projects in Southern California.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct work that requires keen judgment and devises new approaches to solve design problems.
  • Oversee assigned projects and lead teams in planning and execution.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships and interact with clients in all aspects of project delivery.
  • Participate in business development activities, including proposal preparation and client meetings.
  • Lead the development of projects from inception to completion, defining scope, schedule, and budget in alignment with client strategic goals.
  • Provide ongoing engineering review and evaluation of designs for compliance with criteria, standards, and specifications.
  • Be responsive and proactive, managing engineering activities to comply with budgets and schedules.
  • Review and monitor design and construction document preparation from concept design through final completion.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Coordinate all design work with other team disciplines.
  • Participate in training and mentoring staff as appropriate.
  • Attend client/project meetings and present at public hearings.

Requirements:

  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years of transportation/roadway design engineering experience.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation design software.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in the state of California or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months of hire date.

Compensation:

The base pay for this position is $140,000 per year, with the possibility of higher or lower compensation based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
