Job Title: Direct Support Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at The Arc Eastern Connecticut. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individualized support to participants, promoting their independence, and empowering them to make informed choices. You will work collaboratively with our team to develop and implement personalized support plans, ensuring that each participant receives the care and support they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver person-centered support to participants, focusing on their unique needs and goals.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with participants, their families, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the team to design, implement, and monitor individualized support plans.
  • Administer medications, complete documentation, and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure participants' health and safety, including prevention of abuse and provision of first aid.
  • Provide transportation to recreational and community activities.
  • Prepare meals and snacks for participants.
Requirements
  • Prior experience working with individuals with developmental and physical disabilities is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic computer aptitude and English language proficiency are essential.
