Banquet Cook Job Description

Job Summary:

The Banquet Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality dishes for events such as weddings, golf tournaments, corporate gatherings, and special occasions at the Adobe Bar & Grille, part of the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and execute high-quality dishes for events, ensuring accuracy, quality, and consistency in all dishes served.
  • Monitor food quality throughout the cooking process and ensure meals are prepared and presented to the highest standards.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the culinary team, banquet servers, Catering Sales Manager, and others to ensure seamless execution of banquet events and exceptional banquet experiences.
  • Participate in pre-shift banquet meetings, taste tests, and training.
  • Wash dishes and pots, operate dish washing equipment, and distribute and store clean dishes and pots.

Requirements:

  • Culinary degree or certification from a recognized culinary school is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum one year cooking (line and/or prep) experience as a cook in a banquet or catering setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of cooking techniques, culinary terminology, and banquet service protocols.
  • Ability to collaborate with kitchen staff and other restaurant staff.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changes.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of food cooking regulations.
  • Computer Skills: ability to use event software and employee self-service on company's human resources/payroll database.
