About the Opportunity

Sutter Gould Medical Foundation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced physician to fill the role of Core Faculty/Site Director in our Internal Medicine department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising residents and medical students in the outpatient continuity clinic, creating an effective ambulatory practice, and developing processes that teach residents cost-effective medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Resident Supervision
    • Supervise residents and medical students in the outpatient continuity clinic
    • Develop and implement ambulatory curriculum to provide a balanced education in ambulatory medicine
    • Evaluate resident and student performance, using competency-based/milestone evaluations
  • Clinic Duties
    • Serve as the Ambulatory Site Director for the hospital-based Internal Medicine Continuity Clinic
    • Perform or supervise the performance of patient care services, including history-physical examinations and reports, clinic visit notes and evaluations
    • Make referrals for secondary and tertiary care, collaborate with other attending physicians and consultants
  • Leadership and Administration
    • Provide medical direction and administration to ensure an adequate and qualified learning experience for internal medicine residents
    • Develop the schedule for the Clinic attending physicians, direct provider and medical care team meetings
    • Participate in various administrative/clinical staff meetings, serve as a member of the internal medicine residency leadership team
  • Qualifications
    • Must have and maintain current certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine
    • Demonstrate a strong interest in the education of residents, devote sufficient time to the Residency Program to fulfill supervisory and teaching responsibilities
    • Pursue faculty development at least annually to enhance skills in education, quality improvement, and patient safety
    Requirements
    • Current licensure and appropriate medical staff appointment
    • Ongoing clinical activity
    • Must demonstrate ongoing academic achievements in the specialty, including publications, educational programs, or research
    • Be licensed to practice medicine in the state of California
    • Have faculty experience, leadership, organizational, and administrative qualifications
    What We Offer
    • Starting base salary: $300,000
