Your role at LCMC Health is a chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our patients. As a Speech Pathologist, you will be responsible for diagnosing and providing therapy for patients with disorders of communication and swallowing. This includes evaluating and treating patients with developmental disorders, clinical dysphagia, Modified Barium Swallow study, speaking valve, and oral motor disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver clinically appropriate evaluation and therapy services to patients with disorders of communication and swallowing.
  • Evaluate and provide treatment for developmental disorders, clinical dysphagia, Modified Barium Swallow study, speaking valve, and oral motor disorders.
  • Ensure evaluations are timely and accurate.
Treatment Skills
  • Provide treatment to patients referred for Speech Therapy.
  • Able to provide Speech Therapy services to patients with a variety of diagnoses.
  • Use appropriate strategies based on patient's age, diagnosis, evidence, and best practice.
Documentation
  • Document results of Speech Therapy services in the EMR.
  • Documentation is completed within timeframes designated by the hospital or program.
  • Documentation and charges accurately reflect time spent with the patient.
Other Professional Activities
  • May supervise students, Clinical Fellows, therapy technicians, and volunteers.
  • May take an active role in departmental or programmatic activities.
