Position Overview:
The successful candidate will exhibit a strong commitment to teaching and supporting the success of a diverse student body. Faculty members are tasked with creating educational and assessment materials that align with the program's philosophy and framework, as well as the standards set by relevant accreditation and licensure bodies. The faculty member is also responsible for maintaining current licensure and expertise in emergency medical services.
This role involves teaching in the CAAHEP-accredited Paramedicine Program, covering courses in classroom settings, skills labs, and simulation laboratories for both EMT and Paramedicine Programs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in utilizing electronic learning platforms to enhance student engagement and collaborate effectively with a diverse team of faculty, staff, and students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a full-time teaching load, which may include classroom, clinical, laboratory, and simulation-based courses in EMT and Paramedicine Programs;
- Develop syllabi and curricula for lectures and labs that meet course and program learning outcomes;
- Deliver instruction effectively in traditional, hybrid, and online formats;
- Serve as an academic advisor and maintain regular office hours;
- Engage in college, division, and program governance by attending relevant meetings;
- Participate in the assessment of course and program learning outcomes;
- Ensure a safe environment during skills training and evaluations;
- Utilize technology to communicate with students and enhance learning;
- Engage in professional development to maintain teaching excellence;
- Complete necessary documentation for the program and accreditation agencies;
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dean in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Support the College's Equity Agenda;
- Collaborate on strategic initiatives aimed at closing equity gaps in student outcomes;
- Promote an anti-racist community free from bias and inequality;
- Contribute to discussions on policies related to diversity, equity, and inclusion;
- Engage with the Office of Diversity on issues impacting underserved student success;
- Examine practices that are culturally responsive and inclusive;
- Participate in conversations about best practices in equity and inclusion within the discipline.

Required Qualifications:
- Current, active MA and/or NREMT Paramedic certification in good standing;
- A minimum of three years of experience within the last decade as a Paramedic on an emergency response ambulance;
- Possession of an associate degree or equivalent experience, with a commitment to complete an associate degree within 18 months;
- Current AHA, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution;
- Experience teaching EMS, EMTs, Paramedics, or other healthcare-related subjects;

- Availability to teach evening courses;
- Current Massachusetts EMS Instructor/Coordinator credential;
- Current NRP provider and instructor credential;
- Proficiency in teaching both introductory and advanced EMT and paramedic skills;
- Current knowledge in all areas of prehospital care and operations for instructional purposes.
Salary Range: $65,000 - $71,000, commensurate with education and experience as per the collective bargaining agreement.
