We are seeking a dynamic and experienced piano teacher to instruct group piano lessons to 9th and 10th-grade students at Holy Family Institute. This part-time position requires a strong ability to teach students with varying levels of piano experience in a group setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging group piano lesson plans aligned with curricular objectives.
- Teach multiple levels of piano students simultaneously within a single class period.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation.
- Introduce basic music theory concepts and their application to piano playing.
- Prepare students for performance opportunities, such as recitals or class performances.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with school administration and other faculty members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in music or related field preferred.
- Proven experience teaching group piano lessons, preferably in a high school setting.
- Strong piano performance and teaching skills.
- Solid understanding of music theory and ability to teach it effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and paces.
- Flexibility to teach on a rotating A/B block schedule in the afternoon.
- A commitment to professional development and staying current with relevant industry trends.
- Must have Act 33/34 and FBI clearances.
