Job Summary

As a member of the digital team at Point Loma Nazarene University, you will play a key role in creating engaging website content that showcases the university's academic programs and community. This is a unique opportunity to utilize your creative skills and experience in content management to help drive the university's online presence.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in content creation, with experience in writing, editing, and publishing content for various audiences. You will work closely with faculty and staff to develop and implement content strategies that align with the university's goals and objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Audit, craft, and edit pieces for PLNU's main website
  • Build and maintain a scalable content system that contributes to fresh updates made to key university website pages on a weekly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Employ best-practice Search Engine Optimization (SEO) principles to develop systems to track website performance, usability, and optimization opportunities
  • Use this information to identify needs and drive efforts on website change
  • Publish and maintain content through content creation and optimization work
  • Serve as the execution engine of marketing content-focused initiatives, helping drive campaigns and projects to completion
  • Provide guidance and direction to student workers and interns
  • Track the performance of website marketing initiatives through platforms like GA4 and Semrush (or similar)
  • Maintain website Accessibility WCAA 2.2 compliance
  • Coordinate with faculty and staff from across the university to create pages related to departments, including landing pages, degree program pages, etc.
  • Provide training and support to campus web editors
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical topics to a non-technical audience
  • 1 year of previous work experience or significant related internship experience
  • Ability to be a self-starter, work independently, and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Strong time management, organizational skills, and the capacity to use independent judgment in prioritizing tasks
  • Experience working in a Content Management System, Drupal a plus
  • Experience working in SEO or keyword research tools like Semrush a plus
  • GA4 experience a plus
  • Strong aptitude to take direction and work effectively as a supportive, positive, and cooperative team member
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a mostly remote team
  • Flexibility to come to the office upon request (San Diego)
  • Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement
