About the Role

We're seeking a highly motivated and adaptable individual to join our HLT team. As a researcher, you'll work on developing and integrating AI and HLT solutions, including large language model technology. Your expertise will help us address complex mission needs and drive innovation in the field of natural language processing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and development of HLT capabilities, including large language model technology
  • Analyze language processing needs and recommend innovative solutions
  • Prototype HLT systems or components based on analysis of workflow and operational mission needs
  • Evaluate technology solutions in the context of mission data and workflow needs, and provide actionable recommendations
  • Communicate complex ideas to non-technical audiences through briefings and/or white papers
  • Lead projects or small teams to solve complex HLT problems for our sponsors
Requirements
  • Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, linguistics, or related disciplines; or an advanced degree in computer science, engineering, linguistics, or related disciplines with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience
  • Knowledge of and experience in prototyping/developing human language technology components/systems
  • Ability to apply state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to human language technology processing challenges
  • Ability to work independently to learn new technologies, methods, processes, frameworks/platforms, and systems
  • Experience with programming languages such as Java or Python
  • Demonstrated recent experience with large language model (LLM) technology and applications
  • Demonstrated experience in prototyping/developing human language technology components/systems
  • Experience with programming languages such as Java or Python
  • Ability to work independently to learn new technologies, methods, processes, frameworks/platforms, and systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate challenging technical concepts to both lay and expert audiences
  • Must be a US Citizen eligible to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance within one year from date of hire
  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior work experience, including summer internships, in AI/HLT relevant areas
  • Hands-on experience in the development/prototyping of HLT systems or components
  • Active DOD security clearance
