Job Overview

Under the supervision of the Facilities Engineering Manager, the Facilities Maintenance Technician will operate independently as well as collaboratively with team members, other departments, and external contractors to execute tasks, manage projects, and conduct both proactive and reactive maintenance and repairs that align with our operational standards and reflect the core values of Skywalker Holdings, LLC.

Key Responsibilities:

The Facilities Maintenance Technician will oversee the functionality, upkeep, and repair of various systems, including but not limited to:

  • Central Plant Equipment: Chillers, Boilers, Heat Pumps, and Pumps.
  • HVAC Systems: Fan Coils, Air Handling Units, Variable Air Volume systems, Hydronics, Refrigeration, and associated controls.
  • Refrigeration Systems: CRAC Units, Data Center Air Handling, and Split Systems.
  • Mechanical Plumbing Systems: Heating and Cooling Pumps, Cooling Towers, and Water Treatment Systems.
  • Plumbing: Piping, Fixtures, and Valves.
  • Electrical Systems: High and Low Voltage Distribution, Control Circuits, and Mechanical Components.
  • Commercial Kitchen Equipment: Gas Appliances, Refrigerators, and Ice Makers.
  • Building Hardware: Doors, Locks, and Windows.
  • Pool & Spa Maintenance: Chemical Balancing and Filtration.
  • Potable Water Systems: Distribution and Treatment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Elevators, Generators, and Fire Safety Systems.

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is expected to:

  • Efficiently manage time and productivity.
  • Identify and initiate work orders and improvements.
  • Gather quotes from suppliers for materials and coordinate with vendors.
  • Adjust building automation schedules for optimal performance.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for after-hours support.
  • Engage in event shift rotations as required.
  • Be available for overtime and weekend work as necessary.
  • Provide labor support for special projects and events.
  • Exemplify the values of the department and the company.
  • Complete mandatory safety training sessions.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and enhance skill sets.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Availability for on-call duties at all times.
  • Capability to lift, push, pull, or carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as bending, standing, and climbing.
  • Visual acuity for close and distant vision tasks.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 4 years of formal training in operations engineering.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in Building Maintenance or Engineering.

Essential Skills & Competencies:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean record.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Proficiency in data entry and facilities management software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and with external partners.
  • CFC License for refrigerant handling is preferred.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPO Certification.
  • OSHA Certifications.
  • Licenses for Potable Water Treatment and Distribution.

Technical Expertise:

  • Experience with central plant operations including Chillers and Boilers.
  • Knowledge of potable and reclaimed water systems.
  • Familiarity with CMMS for work order management.
  • Understanding of Building Automation Systems.
  • Awareness of OSHA safety standards.

Salary range: $90k-$105k, plus overtime, commensurate with skills and experience.
