This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours of work per week throughout the year. The Pharmacy Cashier reports directly to the Pharmacy Manager.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of six months experience as a cashier in a retail setting

Key Responsibilities
Cashier Duties
  • Manage the cash register, process transactions, and issue receipts
  • Ensure prescriptions are dispensed to the correct patients
  • Verify patient identity for prescription pickups
  • Collect and input insurance details
  • Interpret notes from pharmacists and technicians accurately
  • Adhere to policies for special medication sales
  • Balance the cash register at the end of each shift
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Customer Service Duties
  • Welcome customers and patients upon entering the pharmacy
  • Respond to customer inquiries in person and via phone, directing them to the pharmacist when necessary
  • Assist customers with over-the-counter product selections
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Additional Responsibilities
  • Restock shelves and maintain cleanliness and organization within the pharmacy
  • Refill paper and labels in printers
  • Restock vials, lids, and bags
  • Dispose of trash, recycling, and shredding
  • Organize and file physical prescriptions
  • Text on prescriptions in will-call
  • Assist with invoice maintenance
  • Uphold confidentiality of all health information (HIPAA compliance)
  • Follow all safety protocols
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
