We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse II to join our team at the Texas Health & Human Services Commission. As a RN II, you will play a vital role in providing direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a State Supported Living Center setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide routine level nursing work, including assessment, care, and treatment of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Evaluate, treat, and document healthcare needs and/or issues, and report them to the appropriate person(s).
- Communicate effectively with direct care staff, physicians, administration, and other nursing staff to ensure optimal care as part of the interdisciplinary team.
- Notify the supervisor and PCP of trends and concerns to ensure consistent, high-quality care for all individuals served.
- Complete data entry, required documentation, and reports, and maintain records.
- Assist with services provided by LVNs and Certified Medication Aides (CMA), as needed, and make recommendations for improvements.
- Participate in facility quality assurance/quality improvement (QA/QI) initiatives, as required.
- Respond to emergency situations to ensure safety and care of individuals and staff.
- Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas (or a state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact).
- At least six (6) months of experience as a practicing registered nurse in a health agency, hospital, or healthcare facility is preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
