Job Title: Control System Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Control System Technician to join our team at PremiStar. As a Control System Technician, you will be responsible for completing tasks assigned by your supervisor and project manager, including programming, start-up, troubleshooting, commissioning, and servicing of Building Automation Systems (BAS) controlling and monitoring commercial building HVAC equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Software programming and development
  • Database creation and maintenance
  • Downloading programs to controllers
  • Setting up BAS servers
  • Equipment start-up and check out, including tuning control loops and calibrating field devices
  • Following standard installation procedures
  • Commissioning building controls systems to meet project design
  • Ensuring start-up/commissioning forms are completed for all projects
  • Completing project punch lists timely
  • Coordinating and documenting customer training
  • Marking up project drawings to document progress and changes
  • Meeting project deadlines
  • Assisting sales with estimates as needed
  • Completing service calls as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of control systems
  • Ability to use a laptop computer running a Windows operating system
  • Ability to use a word processor
  • Clear communication skills in verbal and written form
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings
  • Ability to work on a team and communicate effectively with others
  • High School diploma and two-year technical training certificate

This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to operate a variety of machinery and equipment, including electronic and diagnostic tools, recovery equipment, and various other plumbing equipment. The successful candidate will be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently.

This role operates primarily alone and travels to different work sites each day. May work in tight spaces, typically indoors, but may work outside in poor weather conditions. Vehicles are used as the base of operations.
