Job Summary:

As a Registered Nurse in our Medical / Surgical Progressive Care Unit, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care to individuals with complex medical needs. Under the guidance of our experienced healthcare team, you will utilize your clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat human responses to actual or potential health problems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment: Conduct thorough multi-system assessments to identify patient needs, including biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, education needs, and discharge planning requirements.
  • Planning: Develop individualized nursing plans of care that take into account the patient's developmental needs, and coordinate care activities with other hospital and clinic departments and community agencies.
  • Implementation: Initiate appropriate measures based on established protocols for managing medical and surgical patients, and accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record.
  • Evaluation: Regularly evaluate assessment methods, plans of care, and patient responses to treatment, and participate in unit quality assurance activities.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum nine (9) months of RN experience, with one (1) year of current telemetry inpatient experience.
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • License, Certification, Registration: Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided), Basic Life Support, NIH Stroke Scale Certificate within 3 months of hire, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous Healthcare Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Education: Bachelors degree in nursing or related field.
  • Experience in Progressive Care Unit: One (1) year current experience in progressive or intermediate care unit.
  • Experience with Respiratory Compromised Patients: Recent experience with respiratory compromised patients, including long term ventilation, tracheostomy, high flow nasal cannula, and BiPAP.
  • Certifications: PCCN / CCRN Certification.
