Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine the most effective image scan technique and position for patients using immobilization and support devices.
  • Operate advanced nuclear medicine equipment while adhering to safety standards and practices.
  • Coordinate quality control areas, including checking images for optimal quality and disseminating exams to technologists.
  • Provide instruction and orientation to new technologists to ensure their effective participation in performance reviews.
  • Participate in problem-solving issues related to patients, department operations, quality assurance procedures, interdepartmental relationships, and employee morale.
  • Maintain a professional standard and present a positive image of the department.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited AMA School of Nuclear Medicine.
  • Basic knowledge of HIS and RIS systems.
  • IEMA accreditation in Medical Radiation Technology.
  • Registered and certified in nuclear medicine (NM) or Certified by Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (CNMT).
  • CPR certified within 30 days of hire.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work rotating shifts, make independent professional decisions, and function with minimal assistance. The ability to lift and/or move patients is also required. The position may be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening disease, as well as radiation exposure.
