The Anesthesia Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the functionality and availability of anesthesia equipment and supplies. This position involves the organization and maintenance of anesthesia carts, ensuring they are well-stocked with necessary medications and materials. The technician is also responsible for the cleanliness and readiness of equipment, as well as assisting in patient transport when required. This role supports a variety of functions within a surgical environment.
Facility Description:
CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-South is strategically located to serve the growing healthcare needs of the community. With a capacity of 158 beds, the facility offers a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services, including pediatrics, obstetrics, emergency care, and advanced imaging. The hospital is equipped with a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, allowing mothers to stay close to their infants requiring specialized care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Adhere to the OneCHRISTUS Competencies, demonstrating leadership in various capacities.
• Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of anesthesia machines and related equipment in the operating room.
• Collaborate with Materials Management to ensure adequate stock levels of anesthesia supplies and medications.
• Prepare and sanitize equipment before and after surgical procedures.
• Provide assistance to anesthesiologists as needed.
Qualifications:
A. Education/Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
B. Experience
- Preferred experience of at least 1 year in a related field.
C. Certifications
- BLS certification is required.
- Certification as an Anesthesia Technician is preferred.
Work Schedule:
Varies based on departmental needs.
