About the Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Cross Country Program to lead our middle school cross country team at Tacoma Public Schools. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate coach to work with students, develop their skills, and contribute to a positive school culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive cross country program that meets the needs of our students.
  • Supervise and mentor student athletes to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a cohesive and supportive team environment.
  • Maintain accurate records and files, including injury reports and equipment inventory.
  • Attend district and building athletic meetings as required.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in education, sports management, or a related field.
  • Minimum two years of experience as an assistant coach or similar role.
  • First Aid Certificate and CPR card required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Knowledge of building, district, and WIAA policies, regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $36,447 based on a 10-month contract. The salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
