Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Henrico Doctors' Hospital Forest. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to our organization's mission to deliver exceptional healthcare services.
Responsibilities- Administer all therapy modalities to adult patients per physician orders, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of care.
- Initiate, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilators and NIVV, utilizing your expertise to optimize patient outcomes.
- Perform arterial puncture, blood gas, and electrolyte analysis, providing critical information to inform patient care decisions.
- Respond promptly to Code Blue and Rapid Response Calls, demonstrating your ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Adhere to established quality control protocols, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
- Verify all physician orders prior to therapy, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct thorough, accurate reports to oncoming staff, facilitating seamless handovers and ensuring continuity of care.
- Enter all patient interventions and updates into Meditech, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Enter therapy charges and supplies, ensuring timely and accurate billing and reimbursement.
- Participate in all areas of departmental duties, including assistance in new employee orientation and continuing education, demonstrating your commitment to professional growth and development.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Active Virginia Licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Active Certified Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC.
