About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Johnston-Willis Hospital. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in administering therapy modalities as ordered by physicians, performing mechanical ventilator operations, and responding to code blue situations.

Responsibilities

  • Administer therapy modalities as ordered by physicians.
  • Perform mechanical ventilator operations, including initiation, operation, and monitoring.
  • Respond to code blue situations for assigned areas.
  • Assist in transport of ventilator and critically ill patients.
  • Verify physician orders prior to therapy treatment.
  • Provide accurate reports to oncoming staff at shift end.
  • Enter all patient contacts into appropriate systems.
  • Perform equipment rounds.

Requirements

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Respiratory Therapy Degree - AAS or BS.
  • One-year critical care experience.
  • NICU experience.
  • Previous experience with mechanical ventilation, blood gas analysis, and oximetry.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
