Qualifications:

Experience in contracting for 7-10 years at an intermediate to senior level, with a strong background in RFP processes and bidding negotiations. Candidates should possess direct experience in non-IT sectors, particularly in large-scale construction projects. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent professional experience is required.


• Proven ability to deliver results and meet objectives.


• Strong interpersonal skills with a track record of building effective working relationships.


• Experience in leading cross-functional teams.


• Capability to foster support and consensus among diverse groups.


• Demonstrated financial acumen and analytical skills.


Preferred qualifications include an MBA, Certified Procurement Manager (CPM) designation, and at least three years of leadership experience. Experience in managing significant supplier agreements and working within a Shared Services environment is advantageous. Knowledge of supply chain practices in the utility sector and expertise in category management and strategic sourcing methodologies are also preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional category management teams to develop and maintain category strategies and performance metrics.


• Cultivate in-depth knowledge of assigned spend management responsibilities.


• Conduct spend and performance analyses to monitor category effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.


• Develop forecasts for spending and performance improvements to track progress and ensure objectives are met.


• Formulate plans to capitalize on identified opportunities.


• Collaborate with stakeholders to define category requirements through cooperative efforts.


• Drive consensus among stakeholders regarding category strategies and priorities.


• Lead initiatives aimed at performance enhancement as outlined in the category plan, including strategic sourcing efforts.


• Negotiate with suppliers as necessary.


• Oversee critical supplier agreements, including renewals and negotiations of terms, while addressing issues and tracking resolutions.


Supplier Management Responsibilities:


• Develop and maintain supplier criticality ratings and manage key supplier relationships.


• Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with critical suppliers and company executives.


Stakeholder Management Responsibilities:


• Forge successful partnerships with key stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.


• Manage cross-functional category management and strategic sourcing teams as required.


• Collaborate with stakeholders to facilitate decision-making processes that drive results.
